I would like to invite you to a Daf drum workshop, led by the Turkish master of this instrument, Sultan Kara.
The meeting with Sultan Kara opens our international Zohar Fresco Framedrums Camp 2024 workshops, where for over a week you will be able to meet drum lovers from all over the world.
Sultan workshops will explore the best techniques of Daf playing, the variety of rhythms, the art of composition and the mastery of irregular meters. Sultan Kara will share his deep knowledge and wealth of experience to provide participants with an inspiring and educational experience. Thanks to their own daf notes and interactive exercises, each participant will have the opportunity to deepen their skills and expand their knowledge of this fascinating art form. A clearly arranged schedule will ensure thorough coverage of all aspects of the workshop, guaranteeing all participants an unforgettable and enriching experience.
Sultan Kara bio
Sultan Kara, a resident of Switzerland for three decades, has been immersed in the world of percussion for two decades. With ten years of teaching experience, she has earned a reputation as an outstanding educator. Her influence extends to many prestigious festivals such as the Summer Music Festival, the Zurich Jazzhane Festival and most recently Tamburi Mundi. Once a year, he runs a Daf camp in Switzerland, which attracts participants from all over Europe. Sultan Kara is not only experienced, but also passionate about sharing the world of music with others. Additionally, he runs several music groups in Basel, where he shares his knowledge.
