Welcome in my shop. Full translation of the site will bo soon.
Bendir is a hoop drum on which you can play with your hands and fingers. It is associated with Arabic music, but has been known and used in Europe for several hundred years - including in Balkan, klezmer and Irish music. I made this instrument from unique acacia wood and goatskin. Wood for this drum was seasoned for 15 years. Even the sound and vibration of the body itself before the skin was stretched promised a unique instrument. Its sound is piercing - it combines a deep and low bass with high voiced tones. It has a very rich tonal color and strong vibration. I would also say that the sound is "satin". It has a tuning system inside the body - 10 screws for a 2 mm Allen key. Thanks to the tuning system you can get very low tones from nigo and play on it in various atmospheric conditions. Files with the recording of this drum are on the right in the "Downloads" section - it is played by Peter Somos - a Hungarian drummer and percussionist. On bendirach, which I made, they play, among others Patrycja Napierała, Wojciech Lubertowicz, Robert Siwak, Agata Steczkowska, and Paweł Steczkowski. You can listen to recordings of my other drums, for example, during a concert by Maria Pomianowska and ReBorn, recordings of Krzysztof Guzewicz or through my profile on YOUTUBE
